Alexander Arthur McLeod

Alexander, John and Catherine's oldest child, was born August 1, 1858 in Collingwood Township. On March 11, 1888 he married Julia May Cluff, the daughter of Matthew and Leah Cluff who was born April 22, 1862 in Nova Scotia. After the birth of their first two daughters, the family moved to Everett, Washington where their only son and five more daughters were born. Shortly after their last daughter was born, Alexander divorced Julia and took the family by train back to Collingwood. His oldest daughter, Leola, and son, John, decided to stay behind and live in Washington. As his younger daughters grew up, some stayed in Collingwood while others moved back to the United States.
